Vaccinium corymbosum 'Spartan'
Spartan is an early (just after 'Duke') ripening blueberry bush bearing large fruit. Upright, vigorous grower. The berry is known to have the best for flavor of any of the Northern Highbush cultivars. The berry is light blue and very large. The bush is upright with good fall color and reaches 1,5 m. Spartan likes to have a well drained sandy loam and abundant organic matter.
