Deciduous, horizontally branched, broad shrub. Perhaps the best of the large Plicatum types Shasta. Will get big and spread twice as wide as it is tall, with large flowers smothering the horizontal branches, it needs to be grown where the layered habit can be properly displayed.Flower clusters appear in May and are a combination of sterile, showy flowers and small, fertile flowers. Flowers are followed by red fruits in July, which then mature into black. Spectacular plant for a shrub border, mass planting, or specimen.
