During April and May pendants of bright orange-yellow flowers stand out from his glossy evergreen foliage. The blooms are succeeded in autumn by rounded purple-black fruits which always attract birds. Berberis darwinii 'Nana' is a quick grower with a neat, rounded habit that requires almost no maintenance.
