De pluimhortensia is een populaire zomerbloeier met opvallende kegelvormige witte bloemtrossen die later meestal licht roze verkleuren. De nieuwe selectie Hydrangea paniculata Pinky-Winky is zonder meer een opvallende nieuwkomer! De Pinky-Winky bloeit vanaf de vroege zomer met witte bloemen. Vanaf begin augustus beginnen ze een zachtroze blos te vertonen. Vanaf dat moment kruipt de rode gloed langzaam over de ganse bloemtros omhoog tot die volledig rood
