Hillii is a small to medium-sized, female, evergreen conifer with a bushy, columnar habit and shiny, sharp pointed, dark green needles. It grows slower and more compact than the Taxus baccata (Common Yew). The Taxus media 'Hillii' is the masculine form of the Taxus media 'Hicksii. The Taxus media 'Hillii' does not bear berries. Hillii tolerates ocean breezes and air pollution and is rarely affected by diseases or pests. The Taxus has dark green needles and can easily be used as a hedge plant, provided the hedge is not higher about 180 cm.
