Buddleja 'PMooreBLDH16 (TEST 02)'
Informazioni su questa pianta
Buddleja
Butterfly bushes (Buddleja) are fast-growing shrubs from Asia, Africa and the Americas. From late spring into autumn, depending on the species, they bear dense, often fragrant flower panicles in white, lilac, purple, pink or yellow, rich in nectar and very attractive to butterflies and other pollinators. They are among the easiest flowering shrubs to grow.
Esposizione e terreno
Butterfly bushes need full sun and any well-drained soil, including poor, stony or chalky ground. They tolerate drought and urban pollution well. Most are hardy, but the evergreen species from warmer regions need a sheltered spot or winter protection.
Potatura e cura
Most species flower on the current year's shoots and are pruned hard at the end of winter, in March–April. Species that flower on older wood are trimmed just after flowering instead. Removing spent flower spikes extends flowering and limits self-seeding.
Utilizzo in giardino
Suitable as specimens, in mixed borders and informal hedges, and in large containers for the compact forms. They are a mainstay of wildlife and naturalistic gardens. The common species self-seeds readily on bare ground, so deadheading is advisable.
