Tsuga canadensis
The granddaddy" to over 200 cultivars, the Canadian hemlock is a tried and true choice. This slender, upright growing tree has young, yellow-green foliage that matures to gray-brown. Finely textured needles give the tree a soft, graceful look, along with the slightly pendulous branches. Grows to 21 m in height and about half as wide. Will make a majestic specimen in the yard if given some time, or can also be pruned into a beautiful hedge. Medium growth rate."
