Viburnum plicatum tomentosum
Viburnum plicatum 'tomentosum' is a medium to large deciduous shrub with a broad upright and later floor forming habit. It blooms with bright white flowers in large flat umbels, with a ring of large sterile flowers around the small fertile flowers inside. The leaves are ovate to elliptic, veined and serrated. The leaves have a green color in spring, dark green in summer and burgundy red in autumn. After flowering bright red berries appear that after a few weeks ripen into black berries. The plant needs little pruning and tolerates sea wind and pollution.
