Shiro-noda also known as longissima Alba has white flowers with extra long bunches of sixty centimeters and is therefore also called white rain. It blooms quite late and his elegant flower clusters are exceptionally long (about 40-60 cm). The flowers are edible, but the seeds are poisonous. In Japan, this cultivar has been bred many hundreds of years and he is almost a model for the beauty and elegance of the wisteria. It is this kind which is often depicted on ancient Japanese prints.
